The Truth About Muslims and the Fourth Estate

If you depend on the mainstream media -- and why would anyone? – you would come to believe that Muslims are decent, law-abiding people and Christian conservatives are blood-thirsty ogres. It is because of promoting such head-spinning balderdash that the American press has earned the contempt of millions of us.
Instead of speaking truth to power, they roll over for Obama and the Democrats. In dictatorships, you expect journalists to be propagandists because to be otherwise doesn’t mean you lose your job; it means you lose your life.
It used to be that journalists took pride in adopting a policy of independence and objectivity. So far as the political parties were concerned, their attitude was a pox on both their houses. But that is all in the past. Like the zombies who used to pass for journalists at Pravda, they are all card-carrying, dues-paying, members of the socialist regime. They no longer worry about meeting deadlines and scooping the competition, only in promoting a left-wing agenda. If they were canines, they would perpetually have all four legs waving in the air, waiting for Obama to rub their little round bellies.
The Left is always talking about favoring free speech, but it’s a lie. The only speech they ever defend is their own. They speak about the 1st Amendment in such hallowed terms, you would think they had invented it. But when it suits them, they regard it as the .5th Amendment.
Speaking of the media, I would like someone to explain to me why Private Bradley Manning is in the stockade, awaiting his court martial trial, and Julian Assange is hiding out in the Ecuadorean embassy in London, fighting extradition to the U.S., for their part in disseminating national security secrets through Wikileaks, but the folks at the NY Times are not under arrest for publishing the national security secrets that the Obama administration furnished them. I’m really not sure what effect Manning and Assange’s contemptible actions had, but I know that, thanks to the Times, there’s a Pakistani doctor who is serving a 33-year sentence for his part in pointing us to Osama bin Laden’s hidey hole.
That brings us to Muslims. All over the world, we’ve seen those people burning and killing, allegedly in response to a video or a promo for a video nobody appears to have actually seen. Now it’s bad enough that a religion that has a billion faithful scattered all over the place is the looniest on earth. But by this time, we in what continues to pass for the civilized world have come to expect nothing else of those fanatical goons. They never seem to have the time or inclination to write a book, paint a picture, compose a symphony or cure a disease, but they’re always up for a bloody riot.
The problem is that far too many people continue to pay lip service to these creeps simply because they commit their evil in the name of a religion. If they did it in the name of a country, the way that the Nazis, the fascists and the communists, did, we’d all feel free to call them the names they deserve. Instead, our leaders all have to mince words and feign respect in order to be politically correct.
This isn’t a partisan issue. After all, after 9/11, we had eight years of Bush and Rice soft-soaping the Middle East rabble. How often did we have occasion to cringe as our president and secretary of state insisted that people who wanted us dead were a bunch of saints? It’s no truer now than it was when Muhammad tried to convert the world to Islam by killing those who didn’t buy the idea that a religious prophet could also be a pedophile and who didn’t happen to believe that Mecca was the center of the universe or that Islam was in any way, shape or form, an improvement on Judaism or Christianity.
We even have left-wing American intellectuals calling for this video to be destroyed and we now have a different president and secretary of state apologizing to the mob. A number of yellowbellies on the Left liken the video to yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theater, thus overlooking two salient facts. The first is that if a fire breaks out in a theater, crowded or otherwise, calling attention to that fact is the right thing to do; the second is that if we curtail our freedom of speech in order to accommodate bottom-feeders halfway across the world, we are as bad, if not worse, than they are. They at least are willing to stand up for what they believe, as pigheaded as what they believe happens to be.
Perhaps people need to be reminded that as far as Muslims are concerned, this latest war against the United States and modern society didn’t begin with the murder of Ambassador Stevens and his three colleagues in Libya. It also didn’t begin on 9/11/01. It didn’t even begin with the attack on the USS Cole in 2000, the bombings of our embassies in Africa, in 1998, or even the first attack on the Trade Center back in 1993. Furthermore, it didn’t begin with the attack on our Marine base in Beirut, in 1983, which left 299 Marines dead. It actually began back in 1978, after Jimmy Carter pulled the rug out from under the Shah of Iran, allowing the Ayatollah Khomeini and his drooling followers to take control of Iran. Under the new order, it wasn’t all that surprising that their first order of business was to abduct and hold 52 American hostages for 444 days. In other words, this war which we seem so reluctant to acknowledge has been going on for over 30 years.
As an historical sidebar, it’s worth noting that the hostages were released a few minutes after Ronald Reagan moved into the White House. It no doubt helped that it never occurred to President Reagan to even pretend that he held Islam in particularly high esteem and that he was quite prepared to do whatever it took to gain their freedom.
If we had been at war with Nazi Germany for 33 years, do you seriously believe that anybody in the United States would have been worrying about a video that ridiculed Hitler?
I swear if one more American leader repeats the lie that Islam is a religion of peace, I want those six words tattooed across his forehead so that he’s mocked every damn time he leaves the house.
