Stephanie Cutter, an adult who is deputy campaign manager for the President of the United States, was asked today about the terrorist attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, and actually said that "the entire reason that this has become the political topic it is, is because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan." Given the jaw-dropping nature of Cutter's comment, the incredulous expression that flashes across CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin's face is impressively understated:

Believe it or not, Cutter is doubling down on Twitter. Here's a screenshot, just in case that tweet mysteriously disappears.
Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, and security officers Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were unavailable for comment.

Rep. Gowdy rips the Obama Administration over Benghazi

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) tore into the Obama Administration’s false narrative about the Benghazi attack during the House Oversight hearings. ”Was it negligence? Was it just a reckless disregard for the truth? Or was it something more nefarious than that?” Gowdy asked.
He’s devastating when he reminds listeners of just how insistently the Administration pushed its “spontaneous video protest” nonsense. It wasn’t just an offhand remark in the early, confused moments, and the consulate attack didn’t come out of nowhere. ”This was never about a video, it was never spontaneous,” Gowdy said. ”This is terror. And I want to know why we were lied to.”
