Feds Called in to Curb Eastside Crime

Feds Called in to Curb Eastside Crime

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX)

This is what congress is really afraid of. If welfare to these inner city people is reduced or eliminated, there will be wholesale rioting in every city in the country that has a MLK Boulevard. Will make London look like a picnic.

The public housing complexes on the east side of the river might just be the deadliest places in the country, but efforts are underway to secure the area. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) is bringing in federal law enforcement to help state and local authorities crack down on crime. Figures show that East St. Louis is nearly twice as dangerous as even the worst streets in Chicago.

“You will find that the crime rate here is the worst in the nation,” Durbin says. “The club scene in East St. Louis is a crime scene.”

Durbin says that although the public housing complexes are managed federally, their problems come from local sources.

“You cannot have this club scene turn out to be the wild west, where innocent people are victimized by it, no matter what the revenue is to the city of East St. Louis,” he says. “And you can’t open liquor stores on every corner near housing developments and expect good things to come if you’re open all night.”

Durbin says the responsibility is on city leaders’ shoulders to change the public housing situation.

Sister Julia Huiaskamp has tutored many kids in the area, and she says opportunities are few. “We have many, many children who have been cheated by the public schools system here, who do not have the skills they need to get a job, even if there were any jobs to find,” Huiaskamp says. She also says the problem extends beyond just kids. “We have so many parents of the children that we work with who have no cash income – their only income is food stamps,” Huiaskamp says.

Durbin says poverty is a longer-term issue, and for now efforts will focus on reducing crime by tracking down and prosecuting criminals.

Comment:

I have heard several Democrats like Nancy Pelosi say that unemployment benefits are a stimulus for our economy. It's the Democrats who think food stamp income should be allowed when determining if someone qualifies for a home mortgage. It's the Democrats who are against school vouchers - which keeps inner city children trapped in horrific public schools. It's Democrats who are soft on crime and refuse to enforce many laws. It's Democrats who want gun control - so that only criminals have guns and law abiding citizens are defenseless. It's the Democrats who would be happy if we were all on welfare and relied on entitlements - so that they could control us all. The story above - this is what a community organizer like Barack Obama was (and basically still is) strives to create. Now they (the Democrats) only want it to spread - the more it spreads - the closer they are to complete control. This is why they spend so much and don't care about fiscal responsibity - they don't want order - they want chaos. They are the elite, and they would have control. Of course they will take care of themselves, but they don't care about us.

Most importantly, and at the very root of all of this - Democrats (Marxist-Socialists) don't want GOD. They constantly do whatever they can to make GOD irrelevant to as many people as possible. If you read this blog you will find many articles with examples. This is why people like Barack Obama can lie so much like it's nothing, and the main stream media never calls him on it - Democrats are moral relativists - they make their own rules.

This article is just one small example of many that are happening all over in the inner-cities. This is the Democrats' legacy.
