Obama's Newest Excuse: Lazy Americans
Obama's Newest Excuse: Lazy Americans

Obama took his You Don’t Love Me Enough reelection tour on the road to the 57th state this weekend on his way to a less hostile, foreign audience.
No, the stopover wasn’t in Kenya.
It was in Hawaii on his way to Bali, Indonesia, as a part of a new election strategy that aims to capture the entire foreign vote for Obama and the Democrats.
Hey, and why not?
No one has done more for those thrifty, industrious, hard working foreign countries than Obama has. And under Obama’s executive amnesty program it’ll be easier than ever for foreigners to register and vote for him via absentee ballot.
When he said Transforming America, he wasn’t kidding.
In the stopover in Hawaii, in anticipation of speechifying to foreigners, the President of the United States revised slightly his grand apology speech on behalf of all of us Ugly Americans who are responsible for the world’s ills.
You’ll remember that in return for a Noble “Peace” Prize, Obama toured the world in 2009 apologizing for how great the United States is- and presumably for not firing up enough cruise missiles to prove it.
How dare we have fair and free elections? How dare we not persecute people because of religious and political beliefs? How dare we insist that Saddam get due process and be tried under Iraqi courts and laws? Didn’t we know that we could have just turned him over to an extra legal mob as we did Gaddafi, and have him beaten to death and his body sodomized?
We are soooo, sorry. Start minting the peace prize!
Instead, Obama wants everyone to know that the state of the economy in the US and the world has a simple explanation that has nothing to do with him.
Americans are lazy, says our commander-in-chief.
Yep. It’s true.
“We’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades,” said Obama to leaders at the APEC Leaders Summit in Honolulu. “We’ve kind of taken for granted -- well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America.”
Yes, that’s us: Ugly, Lazy Americans responsible for the president’s- and the world’s economic troubles.
Obama then assured executives of the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation that he’s doing everything he can to make doing business in the United States much easier to make up for the rest of us lazy, ugly Americans.
Obama has instructed “all the government agencies to work with state and local governments where they’re seeking assistance from us,” explains Obama, “to go out there and make it easier for foreign investors to build a plant in the United States and put outstanding U.S. workers back to work in the United States of America.”
Forget the peace prize; Obama deserves an Emmy on that one.
The White House transcript doesn’t record whether the line got belly laugh or just quizzical knowing smiles from the foreign executives. I’m guessing that a room full of CEOs have had quite a bit of experience with federal government regulators cooperating with state and local governments to do whatever it is that Obama wants.
But “cooperation” in the sense the rest of us understand it? Only the Chicago kind of cooperation here.
The Chicago kind of “cooperation” is why I get phone calls from representatives of foreign auto manufacturers with plants in the US who say that Obama regulators and unions are targeting plants around the country. They allege that the administration is allied with the union in a forced unionization scheme for foreign-owned auto plants.
What a bunch of lazy workers.
If the workers would just hurry up unionize already and implement the $2 trillion per-year in regulations that will ensure that federal, state and local governments have lots of cooperating to do - not including Obamacare- perhaps Obama wouldn’t have to make excuses for the rest of us.
Click here to watch what Charles thinks.
And if that’s the best that Obama can come up with in front of foreign executives to boost investment in America, then all I can say is: How lazy.
