Wisconsin Left Gears Up As Politico Game Exposed

Here they come.

The Left is issuing secret marching orders for Wisconsin.

And the same Politico "reporter" who "covered" the recent judge race won by a conservative turns out to be the author of Politico's bogus talk radio pay to play stories on Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck.

First, the leaked marching orders for Wisconsin.

Democracy for America's Jim Dean, brother of Howard, says the Left's push to recall six Wisconsin Republican Senators "is almost ready to go and it's the biggest campaign we've ever run."

In an e-mail obtained by The American Spectator, Dean is vowing he will have "thousands of volunteers from across the country to make calls to voters in Wisconsin" in what he calls "the biggest campaign we've ever run." The calls will be made in conjunction with the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC). In addition to flooding Wisconsin with calls from out-of-state activists, the campaign will consists of "hard-hitting television, radio and web ads" targeting the six Republican state senators for "their votes to destroy unions and middle-class families."

There will also be a "massive canvassing operation that will knock on 137,523 doors in 40 days."

Similar campaigns, Dean reveals, are being geared up in "New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio and all across the country." But Wisconsin is first.

And…oh yes…he's asking if recipients will send ten bucks.

What continues to be striking here is that effort to bring Wisconsin's middle-class tax payers to their knees and politically club them into submission. Forcing them to pay for outrageous health care and benefit packages for public employees they can't even afford for themselves is the focus not simply of the Wisconsin Left but the American Left. Every last resource from all across the country is being poured into this effort to recall six Wisconsin state senators who have valiantly tried to protect their very middle class constituents from the equivalent of highway robbery.

Now part two: Wisconsin, talk radio and understanding how the game works with the Left and their liberal media allies.

Remember this from the Daily Caller's Jeff Poor? Poor was writing about Politico's Kenneth P. Vogel and his so-called talk radio pay-to-play stories. Said Poor:

Writing a piece highly critical of conservative talk radio hosts like Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh, then taking that message to the debut of Keith Olbermann's reincarnation on former Vice President Al Gore's Current TV doesn't give yourself away as a lefty -- but it certainly doesn't help with one's perception of objectivity.

Exactly. So after going through the substance of the leaked e-mail rallying the Left to Wisconsin, a thought occurred, and Mr. Google went to work.

When a conservative judge was initially thought to have lost a campaign for re-election earlier this year in Wisconsin, amid all the upset with Governor Scott Walker and public employee unions, this gloating headline ("Conservative judge behind in Wisconsin") appeared in Politico. When the story turned out not to be true, and a recount confirmed the conservative judge had in fact won, this story appeared in Politico. The headline: "David Prosser confirmed winner in Wis. Judge race." In other words, Politico headlined a prospective Prosser loss as that of a "conservative judge." When the results were finally in, the victory was headlined not as that of a "conservative judge." Suddenly the headline is about a personal win for "David Prosser."

And the plot thickens.

Who is it that wrote the first story in Politico with the gloating "conservative judge behind" headline?

You got it.

That would be one "Kenneth P. Vogel."

That's right. The same Kenneth P. Vogel whose "lefty" tendencies the Daily Caller's Jeff Poor was musing about. Tendencies on display over in Politico -- and on the very first Keith Olbermann show on Al Gore's Current TV network. (See link below to Daily Caller Olbermann video.) Where Vogel was pumping up the fake "pay to play" talk radio scandal story he had written for -- Politico.

Now, let's be clear. We could not possibly care less what politics Ken Vogel has. The problem -- and it's always a problem -- is that so-called "mainstream media" journalists are in fact not there to report facts, they are writing liberal commentary subtly (at this point in time, not so subtly) disguised as "news." The talk radio "pay to play" story, as noted previously here and here (with a link to the Daily Caller's Olbermann video) was a fake. From start to finish.

Yet Vogel was out there hawking this story in both Politico and the decidedly leftist Current show as if he had made some earth-shaking, scandalous discovery about Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck. And the story was fake news. Bogus. Phony.

And a quick look to see, just as a hunch, where Vogel and Politico were on the reporting in Wisconsin turns up the "Conservative judge behind" business.

So here's the thread.

Whether the story is headlined "Conservative judge behind in Wisconsin" or, as here, "Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck sell endorsements to conservative groups," the latter story also targeting Mark Levin (who has answered here), all you will have to do to understand what's really going on with Wisconsin stories in Politico slanted against conservatives, or phony talk radio stories in Politico slanted against conservatives, is to look in Politico for this byline: "Kenneth P. Vogel."

Can you say "George Soros"????

The Media Research Center's Dan Gainor, the MRC VP for Business and Culture, points out an interesting fact about Politico's Ken Vogel.

We've posted about the saga of the fake talk radio scandal. Pointing out that these stories are coming from Politico "reporter" Vogel who seems to have, as Jeff Poor over at The Daily Caller politely termed it, a "lefty" agenda.

Mark Levin, shy and retiring talk radio host that he is, posted this about Vogel.

But now there's more.

Gainor has provided more substance on Poor's instinct.

"Reporter" Vogel is in fact a former staffer for the George Soros funded Center for Public Integrity. Says Politico itself (albeit well down in the bio) in this staff bio found here:

Before joining POLITICO prior to its 2007 launch, Vogel reported for …. The Center for Public Integrity in Washington, D.C.

In other words, what we have here, unacknowledged to the general public by Politico, is a former Soros guy using the cyber pages of Politico to take a swing at the integrity of Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, the Heritage Foundation, Americans for Prosperity and so on. Everyone on the list being a Soros target in one form, fashion or another.

Did David Frum tell you this?

No.

Did Politico tell you this? No.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. We wouldn't want word to get out on how things really work at Politico, would we?

Oh yes…that headline cited earlier in our last post…the one Vogel had for his story on the judgeship race in Wisconsin that features the idea that a "conservative" is losing? It turns out Vogel is a graduate of that right-wing bastion known as…the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Gollllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeee Ned, as Gomer Pyle used to say. Imagine that. From the University of Wisconsin-Madison to George Soros to Politico, give or take a few stops.

And they wonder why the MSM has lost all credibility.
