Vice President Joe Biden, in an exchange with a woman in Sarasota, Fla., called transgender discrimination the “civil rights issue of our time,” Politico reported.

Biden notably came out in favor of same sex marriage before President Barack Obama did earlier in the year. Last month, he met with up-and-coming lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender leaders from around the country at his home in Washington.

Biden, who was on his way out of an Obama campaign office, spoke to a woman who he said had beautiful eyes and had a brief exchange with her.

A reporter covering Biden noted that the woman said something inaudible to the vice president, to which he responded, the "civil rights issue of our time."

The woman was later asked about the exchange. Linda Carragher Bourne of Sarasota said her daughter was Miss Trans New England and asked if Biden would help them.

"A lot of my friends are being killed, and they don't have the civil rights yet. These guys are gonna make it happen," she said.

In August, Biden told gay supporters in Provincetown, Mass., “Many of you have advanced civil rights at great expense,” he said. “If I had to use one adjective to describe this community it’d be courage. You have summoned the courage to speak out, to come out. We owe you.”

My response - bullcrap! This is like telling a person who shits on your front steps that they can't is discriminating against them and it's also a civil rights issue. As if I needed more proof that Joe Biden is a fool.

Andrew Biggs has an interesting article called “The Gender Pay Gap Is a Media Myth” at the American Enterprise Institute, in which he explores a recent study of said pay gap, and finds its dimensions change rather dramatically as the raw data from the study is “controlled” in various ways.

The study, published last week by the American Association of University Women, offered an initial “headline” result that “new female college grads are paid only 82 cents for each dollar of male earnings.” Naturally, this headline was reported far and wide.

But even the AAUW researchers knew their headline factoid wasn’t really true. They did the necessary diligence and controlled the data for such factors as the major fields of study chosen by the graduates – some of which pay much better than others – and the greater number of hours male graduates were generally willing to work. With these considerations duly accounted for, the number changed to roughly 93 cents on the dollar for female graduates. Biggs gives the AAUW “credit” for performing these calculations, although it’s curious that this much more comprehensive calculation wasn’t the “headline” conclusion of the study. (Of course, the reason is fairly obvious: a 7-cent “gender pay gap” isn’t much of a headline.)

Biggs then decided to introduce some further controlling factors, working from Census Bureau data. He stuck with recent college graduates who remained employed during the entire year, from 2009 to 2010, and “controlled for age, race, Hispanic and immigrant status, detailed geographic location, weekly work hours, college major and occupation.” He took special care to control for “compensating wage differentials,” which is another way of saying that “dangerous or unpleasant jobs may pay more, while jobs offering flexible hours or more generous benefits might pay less.” Men and women tend to apply for these “lucrative but lousy” jobs and “awesome jobs that don’t pay as much” in different proportions.

“Including all these controls, the gender pay gap for young college grads drops to around 1 percent,” Biggs concluded. (Emphasis mine.) He went on to note that some of this 1 percent gap might be accounted for by the “well known” tendency of women to “negotiate over pay less aggressively than men.”

It’s hard to infer widespread gender discrimination, which can only be addressed by far-reaching legislation, from such a narrow “pay gap.” Fortunately for the Left, the media is willing to work very hard to make that inference. Many of the controls Biggs applied to his data are simple common-sense observations to the average working man and woman, but with enough political marketing, many of them can be persuaded to set common sense aside.

Winny wins big -- Demos cry foul.

The debate you are about to witness will not be televised, but it is indeed historic and it will provide some of the fireworks that were missing in the three presidential debates.

This is not said to disparage Mitt Romney's achievement as the clear winner of those debates.

In taking total command of the first debate, he connected with the American people for the first time. He showed that he was not the cold, heartless plutocrat pictured in the Obama ads and the mainstream media. He demonstrated that he could outthink and outtalk the president in any discussion of economic and foreign policy issues. And he looked and acted presidential. Barack Obama went from dopey and disengaged in the first debate to snarling and aggressive in the next two. But he didn't make up an inch of ground. More and more, over the course of the debates, men and women came to like and respect the challenger… and see the incumbent as the real impostor.

As good as that was, many Romney supporters were hoping for more. What Romney did not do during the three debates was to treat the thick-headed liberal/progressive mindset with the derision that it so richly deserves. The Obama administration has learned nothing from -- and cares nothing about -- its habitual mistakes and misjudgments, regardless of how costly they turn out to be. Why -- Bill Clinton pointedly asked -- is this election even close?

The president and his minions do not apologize for high unemployment, trillion dollar deficits, or the sacking of a U.S. consulate and the murder of an ambassador and three of his co-workers. They do not apologize for the most anemic recovery in more than 60 years, or for wasting billions of dollars of taxpayer money on bankrupt "green" energy projects. Instead they run around saying how much worse this country would be without them and their high-minded ideas about "fairness" and "social justice."

How galling is that?

It's time for a further debate -- one that does more than establish Mitt's bona fides; one that really takes it to the opposition.

For that purpose, I have coaxed Winston Churchill's shade out of the Elysian Fields.

Barack Obama called upon Bill Clinton to serve as his "Explainer in Chief" at the Democratic National Convention. Sir Winston agreed to play something of the same role for Mitt Romney.

As it happens, there is a history of enmity between Obama and Churchill. One of Obama's first acts as president was to knock the Churchill bust off the pedestal in the Oval Office where it had stood since shortly after the September 11 attacks -- on loan from the British government.

When the Brits offered to let Obama keep the Churchill bronze for another four years, the White House said, "Thanks, but no thanks," which is diplomatic patois between long-standing allies for "Get stuffed."

Speaking as a long-dead white man, Churchill possesses certain advantages denied to Mitt Romney and other current political figures on the right. He can say whatever he pleases -- without having to worry about the easily excited and ever-vigilant PC police who patrol the public airways and print medium.

For his part, the president has always seemed to welcome the challenge of correcting the mistakes of long-dead white men.

Here, then, are Obama and Churchill squaring off on topics of the day. As the moderator, I will pose the questions and otherwise stay out of way.

Moderator: Does Islamism, or Muslim extremism, pose a real danger to U.S. security and world peace? Mr. Churchill has won the coin toss and he has elected to go first in fielding my question.

Churchill: Of course it does. Only a fool would think otherwise.

(Note to the reader: In a few places, such as the foregoing, I have invented short quotes for purposes of transition. All other quotes herein are taken from the speeches or writings of the two men and are properly attributed.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as absolute property -- either as a child, a wife, or a concubine -- must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities. Obama: People are the same wherever you go. In essence, the threat posed by angry and disaffected Muslims is no different -- and no greater -- than the threat posed by other people who have been similarly affected by joblessness, poverty, and other social ills.

In every country, there are those who find different religious beliefs threatening; in every culture, those who love freedom for themselves must ask how much they are willing to tolerate freedom for others.

That is what we saw play out the last two weeks, as a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage through the Muslim world (on September 11, 2012, and in the weeks that followed). I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video, and I believe its message must be rejected by all who respect our common humanity. It is an insult not only to Muslims, but to America as well -- for… we are a country that has welcomed people of every race and religion. We are home to Muslims who worship across our country. We not only respect freedom of religion -- we have laws that protect individuals from being harmed because of how they look or what they believe. We understand why people take offense to this video because millions of our citizens are among them.

Obama: We need more -- for two reasons. We need more regulation to keep greedy capitalists from ripping off everyone else. And we need more government intervention and planning to pick the economic winners of the future.

I'll help our auto companies retool, so that the fuel-efficient cars of the future are built right here in America. I'll make it easier for American people to afford these new cars (by providing government rebates). And I'll invest $150 billion over the next decade in affordable, renewable sources of energy -- wind and solar power and the next generation of biofuels, an investment that will lead to new industries and five million new jobs that pay well and can't ever be outsourced.

We can see the positive impacts right here of Solyndra. Less than a year ago, we were standing on what was an empty lot. But through the Recovery Act, this company received a loan to expand its operations. This new factory is the result of those (government-guaranteed) loans.

Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business -- you didn't make that happen. Somebody else made that happen.

Moderator: What are your thoughts on this subject, Mr. Prime Minister?

Churchill: I've said it before and will say it again: "The follies of socialism are inexhaustible."

I watched the long, slow, agonizing decline of British industry under socialism following World War II… and I know that government only makes things worse by meddling in the economy. Whenever governments try to pick winners and losers, they invariably wind up picking losers and compounding failure. And there are good reasons for that.

When losses are made (under free-market capitalism), these losses are borne by the individuals who sustained them and took the risk and judged things wrongly, whereas under state management all losses are quartered upon the tax-payers and the community as a whole. The elimination of the profit motive and of self-interest as a practical guide in the myriad transactions of daily life will restrict, paralyze, and destroy British ingenuity, thrift, contrivance, and good housekeeping at every state in our life and production, and will reduce all our industries from a profit-making to a loss-making process.

Two recent ads illustrate the great cultural divide in this nation and which parties and presidential candidates represent these competing worldviews.

In the handling of the economy and national security, President Obama has shown he's not capable of being the adult in the room. After four years of perpetual campaigning and cheerleading for his pet projects, he still isn't prepared to deal soberly with the consequences of his ideological indulgences.

His community organizing fantasy has been to remake America in his more socialistic image, and in the process, he's taken the nation dangerously close to financial ruin. Yet like the unsupervised children in "Lord of the Flies," he refuses to make mature decisions to reverse this fiscally suicidal trend.

In the same way, Obama eschews any responsibility for the destruction his policies have caused -- still preposterously blaming President George W. Bush four years later for his own scorched-earth ransacking of America's treasury and jobs market.

The American left simply will not graduate from its '60s radicalism, and under President Obama, these adolescents are firmly in charge. Thus, it should be no surprise that these same developmentally arrested people don't have the good sense to hide their intentions to permanently convert America into a land of rampant licentiousness and irresponsibility. Two ads connected with Team Obama make the point quite clearly and deserve universal distribution.

First, we have the Obama campaign ad comparing voting for Obama to having sex for the first time. Is nothing too vulgar for this bunch of MTV panderers? Probably not, as President Obama either showed us his true character or stooped to even lower pandering in his recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, during which he called Mitt Romney a BSer -- only he, our sitting president, pronounced the full word. Now, back to the ads.

If you haven't had the misfortune of viewing this, actress Lena Dunham appears on a video appealing to young women to imagine their first time voting for Obama as being akin to losing their actual virginity. The references were explicit and unmistakable. You shouldn't expect anything subtle from this vulgar crew.

First, the sexual innuendo: "Your first time shouldn't be with just anybody. You want to do it with a great guy," says Dunham. "It should be with a guy with beautiful ... someone who really cares about and understands women."

Next, she segues seamlessly into policy: "A guy who cares whether you get health insurance -- and specifically whether you get birth control. The consequences are huge. You want to do it with the guy who brought the troops out of Iraq. You don't want a guy who says 'oh, hey, I'm at the library studying,' when really he's out not signing the Lilly Ledbetter Act."

After a short riff on gay marriage, she says, "It's also super-uncool to be out and about and someone says 'did you vote?' and (you reply), 'No, I didn't feel -- I wasn't ready.'" She closes by describing her first time voting as "amazing." It was like crossing that "line in the sand" to vote for Barack Obama. "Before I was a girl; now I was a woman."

Is this the type of ad we should expect from a president who has two young daughters? Is this really acceptable in today's hip America?

The next video features children singing about what an America under a Romney presidency would be like. This world -- kind of like the horror show the late Ted Kennedy predicted for women should Judge Robert Bork have been confirmed to the United States Supreme Court -- would be one in which sick people must "just die," our atmosphere would fry, oil would fill the sea and homosexuals could be "fixed." In that world, "we don't have to pay for freeways. Our schools are good enough. Give us endless wars on foreign shores and lots of Chinese stuff. ... You can't cut spending with elections pending -- unless it's welfare, though."

The mind-numbed, programmed "children of the future" sing in lock step about these ills and then squarely lay the blame on their own "mom and dad."

It is particularly sinister that these indoctrinated children are led to charge that Romney and the GOP would leave them "holding the bag," when the administration behind the ad is itself flagrantly guilty of that very charge.

It is not debatable that unless we dramatically reverse course, America will go over the cliff to national bankruptcy. It is equally unarguable that President Obama has no plans to avert our course.

The good news is that the grown-ups in America, I truly believe, are going to come out in droves on Election Day and demand that the controls of this nation be returned to their fellow responsible adults.

The first statements from the Obama administration about what happened in Benghazi seemed plausible. There were, after all, protests throughout the Muslim world on the anniversary of 9/11 -- some incited by Islamists using an obscure video to arouse anti-American fervor in the mobs, and some, no doubt, just pelting U.S. embassies on general principles. When the administration explained that one of those protests had spun out of control and led to the murder of our ambassador and three other Americans in Libya, there seemed no reason to doubt it.

For a day. But within hours, the administration account deflated like a punctured balloon. CBS reported that there was no protest outside the consulate in Benghazi. Members of Congress who were briefed said the attack was a military-style assault. We learned that an al-Qaeda affiliate claimed responsibility for the attack. It was reported that Ambassador Stevens had noticed increased al-Qaeda activity, had feared for his safety, and had requested additional security, only to be turned down. Yet day after day, the administration continued to distort reality by referring to the Internet video.

Most of the press was willing to let the story fade because the man in charge is their man, and he is in a tight race for reelection. But Fox News, Eli Lake of The Daily Beast, and one or two others have revealed details about the administration's handling of the crisis that are beyond embarrassing -- they verge on malfeasance.

According to Fox's Jennifer Griffin, former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, who was part of a small team at the CIA safe house about a mile from the consulate, heard shots fired at 9:40 p.m. He urgently requested backup from the CIA and asked permission to head to the consulate to help. The request was denied three times. He and his team were told to "stand down."

Woods and others disobeyed orders and headed over to the consulate where they rescued several people and carried away the body of Sean Smith. They did not find the ambassador. Upon returning to the safe house, they again requested military back up and were again denied. They were soon under fire. The fighting there went on for four more hours. Washington was in constant touch with personnel in Benghazi through email. In addition, Griffin reports, a special operations force was stationed only 480 miles away at Naval Air Station Sigonella in Italy. They could have flown to Benghazi in less than two hours. The New York Post further reports that a military drone aircraft was over Benghazi at the time of the attacks, relaying real time information back to Washington.

President Obama told a Denver TV station, "I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to. Number two, we're going to investigate exactly what happened to make sure it doesn't happen again. Number three, find out who did this so we can bring them to justice."

Investigations can stretch on for a long time -- certainly past Nov. 6. If the president gave such an order, why were urgent pleas for military support denied? Would the military defy the orders of the Commander in Chief? General David Petraeus says that the CIA never denied a request for help -- which raises the question: Who else but the White House would have made such a decision?

Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta may have answered the question -- and exposed Obama's claim of directing that our personnel be secured as false. Panetta explained,"[The] basic principle is that you don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on, without having some real-time information about what's taking place. And as a result of not having that kind of information, the commander who was on the ground in that area, Gen. Ham, Gen. Dempsey and I felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation."
Really? Is the Secretary of Defense really saying that we can't put forces at risk when Americans are already at risk and are being shot at? Why do we have a military again? Tyrone Woods certainly didn't have any doubt about what to do when Americans were under attack. He defied orders and rushed to help, sacrificing his own life. It's what any member of the armed forces would normally do -- unless restrained by incompetent civilian authority.

Last week I brought you a mini fact check of President Obama's claims the abortion giant Planned Parenthood provides mammograms. They don't, it's a sham known as mammosham. Now, the pro-life Susan B. Anthony list has released an ad responding to not only mammosham, but a whole series of falsehoods, including contraception mandates for religious institutions through ObamaCare, being perpetuated by the Obama campaign and Planned Parenthood itself this election season.

“With Obamacare and the HHS Mandate, President Obama has launched an unprecedented attack on freedom of religion and the rights of conscience. President Obama knows this – and in an effort to distract the media and grassroots, he and his team have resorted to using scare tactics with women’s health,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of SBA List.

“Planned Parenthood’s own annual report reveals that it is the largest abortion provider in the nation – it does not provide comprehensive, whole woman’s health care, including mammograms. The HHS mandate forces religious institutions and Americans of faith and conscience to violate their beliefs and pay for coverage of abortion-inducing drugs. Women want and deserve leaders that care about access to comprehensive, whole woman care, not those who promote only abortion-centered institutions and policies.”

"Look at the string of broken promises. If you like your health care plan, you can keep it. Try telling that to the 20 million people who are projected to lose their health insurance if Obamacare goes through or the 7.4 million seniors who are going to lose it.

Or remember when he said this: I guarantee if you make less than $250,000, your taxes won’t go up. Of the 21 tax increases in Obamacare, 12 of them hit the middle class.

Or remember when he said health insurance premiums will go down $2,500 per family, per year? They’ve gone up $3,000, and they’re expected to go up another $2,400.

Or remember when he said, “I promise by the end of my first term I’ll cut the deficit in half in four years”? We’ve had four budgets, four trillion-dollar deficits.

...We’ve got to tackle this debt crisis before it tackles us. The president likes to say he has a plan. He gave a speech. We asked his budget office, “Can we see the plan?” They sent us to the press secretary. He gave us a copy of the speech. We asked the Congressional Budget Office, “Tell us what President Obama’s plan is to prevent a debt crisis.” They said, “It’s a speech, we can’t estimate speeches.”

You see, that’s what we get in this administration — speeches — but we’re not getting leadership." -- Paul Ryan

"(Obama) said that by now we'd have unemployment at 5.4 percent. The difference between where it is and 5.4 percent is 9 million Americans without work. I wasn't the one that said 5.4 percent. This was the president's plan. Didn't get there.
He said he would have by now put forward a plan to reform Medicare and Social Security, because he pointed out they're on the road to bankruptcy. He would reform them. He'd get that done. He hasn't even made a proposal on either one. He said in his first year he'd put out an immigration plan that would deal with our immigration challenges. Didn't even file it.

...The middle class is getting crushed under the policies of a president who has not understood what it takes to get the economy working again. He keeps saying, "Look, I've created 5 million jobs." That's after losing 5 million jobs. The entire record is such that the unemployment has not been reduced in this country. The unemployment, the number of people who are still looking for work, is still 23 million Americans.

There are more people in poverty, one out of six people in poverty. How about food stamps? When he took office, 32 million people were on food stamps. Today, 47 million people are on food stamps. How about the growth of the economy? It's growing more slowly this year than last year, and more slowly last year than the year before.

Barack Obama is a small little man trying and failing to do a very big job. He has been one of the worst, if not the worst President in American history. Based solely on his performance, Barack Obama should be losing this election in a 50 state landslide. Yet, here we are going into the final week before the election and Mitt Romney is barely ahead in a nip and tuck race. Could that be because some people don't like Romney? Sure, but there's a lot more going on and no matter who wins this election, the Republican Party and the conservative movement need to start addressing the underlying structural issues that are allowing a mediocrity like Obama to compete for the presidency despite the fact that he's proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's unworthy of the office.

1) Cheap Borrowed Money: On an intellectual level, most Americans may be able to comprehend that the country is in deep financial trouble, but they're not feeling the squeeze. Part of that is because Western Europe is having its own financial troubles and it's driving cheap borrowed money here, but it's also because the Fed is playing sleazy financial games to cover up our weakness. Interest rates are being kept artificially low and in 2011, the Fed bought 61% of our debt. So, we have a 16 trillion dollar debt we can't pay for, we're running a trillion dollar plus deficit a year, people from both parties say it's "unsustainable," and yet the public isn't being forced to make any hard choices at all. Essentially, the only thing of significance we've agreed to cut in the last four years is the military budget and both Obama and Romney agree those cuts will never happen. It's hard to convince the public that there's an impending crisis when Republicans are calling for tax cuts, Democrats are calling for more spending and everything seems to be humming along just like it always has.

2) A Style Over Substance Mentality: One of the great ironies of modern American life is that as the number of news sources Americans have access to have proliferated, news organizations have become more and more enamored with covering gaffes and clever put-downs to draw an audience in an increasingly competitive market as opposed to hard news. As a result, increasingly, Americans seem to be less willing or perhaps even less able to comprehend the crucial issues that confront the country. Barack Obama, to his everlasting shame, has taken full advantage of this trend. In 2008, his campaign was about "Change," "Hope," "Unity," and in 2012 it has been "Big Bird," "Binders," and Bayonets." If we become so shallow as a people that elections are primarily decided by trivia instead of the issues that will really determine the fate of our nation, then ultimately we’re doomed to fail.

3) A Left-wing Takeover of Colleges, the Media, and Hollywood: The Left has completed its "long march through the institutions" and now it owns Hollywood, colleges, and the mainstream media. People tend to notice Hollywood stars spouting off, but Hollywood is really effective because it habitually treats far left-wing beliefs as the cultural norm while Christian and conservative beliefs are almost always portrayed as backwards and mean-spirited. In our colleges, Communists, terrorists, and far left-wingers indoctrinate naïve students with a poisonous miasma of liberal beliefs. Meanwhile, most of the mainstream media, from The New York Times, the Washington Post, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, etc., etc., etc. act as press flacks for the Democratic Party. Whatever story the Democrats want out there, they push it. Stories that are bad for the Left are either completely ignored or treated as insignificant. When conservative state legislators help fund public colleges that teach kids to hate them and conservatives watch TV shows, movies, and cable news networks that smear their beliefs over a morning paper that mocks God and looks down its nose at people with traditional values, it's no surprise the Left has a huge advantage. Vladimir Lenin once said, "The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them," and today, conservatives are funding the very people who are hanging our country by the neck until it dies.

4) Racial Polarization: Democrats start every election with 90% of the black vote and roughly 65% of the Hispanic vote as a given. Some of this is based on issues. Black and Hispanic Americans are more likely than other Americans to be poor and impoverished Americans are more likely to find the Democrats' offers of free goodies to be appealing. However, much of it is cultural and the fruit of the liberal strategy of falsely calling Republicans racist. In fact, that's pretty much the ONLY thing Barack Obama has had to offer to black Americans. They've gone backwards economically, illegal aliens have taken jobs that would have gone to black Americans, and Obama has fought against God's definition of marriage and school choice, both of which are popular with African-Americans. It's not much better for Latinos. Helping illegal aliens to stay here doesn't help American Hispanics; to the contrary, it hurts all low income workers and costs the middle class money. The only people who really benefit are corrupt business owners who get below market labor and liberal politicians who eventually want to turn illegals into votes. Yet, as long as the Republicans refuse to do serious outreach and liberals can keep locking up huge percentages of the vote just by crying racism, they'll keep getting a much larger share of the black and Hispanic vote than they deserve based on their performance in office.

5) Entitlement Culture: Because America has done so well for so long, we've started to embrace a "participation trophy" mentality. Instead of believing you should be rewarded for what you produce, many Americans have embraced a different concept that Thomas Sowell describes:

"One of the consequences of such notions as ‘entitlements ’ is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence."

Large swathes of our society now believe that they are owed an education, medical care whether they pay for it or not, money and food stamps if they're out of work, free birth control, free government cell phones, help with their mortgage, and medical care and money for a decade or two after they retire. In the scheme of things, that wouldn’t be so bad except for one thing: What seems to be conspicuously absent from these beliefs about what people are "owed" simply for being American citizens is whether or not they’re ever going to pay enough money into the system to FUND all of these things.

Barack Obama has played on this mentality and he has pursued a strategic goal of making as many Americans as possible reliant on the government. Every American who works for the government, gets welfare and food stamps, or sees April 15th as a payday instead of a time to pay out, is likely to be another vote for the Democratic Party. It may be terrible for the country to build up an army of sponges, parasites and takers, but it’s good for the Democratic Party. Don't think that "The Food Stamp" President is unaware of that fact either.

The definition of spin is to apply a slant or particular emphasis to information, as to persuade or deceive.

President Barack Obama really has been pounding the pulpit the past few days, with the election right around the corner, with the help of his speechwriters. He sounds a lot like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. About the only thing Obama hasn't said is "God damn America," as Wright did.

Obama has to pound his chest and beat the drum to rev up the Democratic base. Thank goodness that the only thing Mitt Romney has to do to rev up the Republican base -- and, I hope, independents and undecided voters -- is to talk common sense.

Obama can spin a fact, and even though it's wrong or untrue, we almost believe it. Then he sends his minions out to spin the same fact, hoping that if we hear it enough times, we finally will believe it. The attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, is a prime example. Even though Obama knew -- from the moment of the assault -- that it was a terrorist attack, he didn't let the American people know. We recently learned a drone was recording the attack in real time, and our president was watching from the Situation Room. It is clear that he chose to deceive the American people deliberately, saying it was a mob protest and blaming it on a video that nobody had seen.

My wife, Gena -- who is a lot tougher than I am -- and I are fighting mad with all the lies and distortions coming out of the White House. When I film a movie, I can kick the bad guy's butt. But here, all I can do is hope, pray and vote. So that is what we have to do! We have to get everyone out to vote for the only man who can get us out of this mess, Mitt Romney.

Unfortunately, Obama didn't have the experience to fix the economy, which he promised the American people he'd do. However, there were two things that would have been easy for him to accomplish. He promised to televise on C-SPAN all new bills presented to Congress, including Obamacare. However, Obama conveniently forgot that promise when his administration cut backroom deals with drug industry lobbyists, medical groups, union bosses, insurance industry representatives and lawmakers during Obamacare negotiations.

In a second broken promise, Obama assured us he wouldn't allow special interest groups and lobbyists to influence his policies. However, he regularly has granted exclusive White House access to his biggest donors, who bring their lobbyists with them. In fact, Democratic National Committee officials urged lobbyists to solicit personal checks from corporate executives and rewarded them with premium credentials and hotel rooms at the Democratic National Convention. So much for integrity and honesty!

Folks, we are at a crossroads this election. We could elect a president who would keep us on a losing streak, Obama, or we could elect a president who has the expertise to get us on a winning streak, Romney. Boy, is that a no-brainer!

I am a martial artist first and an actor second. I am definitely not a politician. I'll leave that to experienced people like Romney.

So I am going to evaluate this election as a martial artist. I am a 10th-degree grandmaster and have studied the martial arts for more than 50 years -- 15 of those years as a fighter and instructor, teaching thousands of students before going into the film business.

I was also able to achieve great success as a martial arts fighter and, through years of dedication and hard work, became a world champion. Why am I telling you all of this? Because Mitt Romney is that same kind of fighter. With his business acumen, he would be successful in turning our country around for a brighter future.

Romney is an incredibly successful businessman, which means he would focus on job growth and get small business up and running again. In a bipartisan fashion, Romney was very successful as the governor of Massachusetts. And he turned a failing Olympics around and made it one of the most successful Olympics in years. Most importantly, he and his wife, Ann, donate about 30 percent of their income to charity -- more than Obama and Vice President Joe Biden combined.

So if I were going to promote Romney to a belt rank based on all of his qualifications, it would be a black belt.

Now let's look at Obama's record. I already have mentioned a couple of his failures. Obama's failures are even more apparent when we look at his extremely limited background in the private sector and his complete lack of experience in running a business. That lack of experience means he doesn't fully appreciate the following:

1) Accountability to American consumers, employees and investors.

2) Balancing budgets, maximizing revenue and closely monitoring spending (at the risk of sinking your company if you fail).

3) Long hours, hard work and great personal investment with merely keeping a business afloat.

4) Intense competition with other businesses in the private market.

5) High personal risk and no taxpayer-funded safety net or bailout if your business flops.

6) A devastating impact from soaring tax hikes and government regulations on your ability to stay in business.

7) A solid understanding of free market principles and job creation strategies.

So, after evaluating all of Obama's qualifications, I would promote him to white belt, as I would all beginners. And I'm sure that if, God forbid, he were to get re-elected, at the end of four years he still would be a white belt.

Folks, Obama is the chief executive of our great nation. Without a firm understanding of these principles, how could he lead America back from the brink of economic collapse and even more widespread unemployment?

I will admit that Obama is a gifted speaker and very charismatic, but he is just not a leader, and our economy would only get worse in the next four years if he were to be re-elected. I'm not going to bring up all the things he has lied about. All I'm going to say is that a president who is dishonest with the American people does not deserve a second term.

'Cooling Out' the Voters

Confidence men know that their victim -- "the mark" as he has been called -- is eventually going to realize that he has been cheated. But it makes a big difference whether he realizes it immediately, and goes to the police, or realizes it after the confidence man is long gone.

So part of the confidence racket is creating a period of uncertainty, during which the victim is not yet sure of what is happening. This delaying process has been called "cooling out the mark."

The same principle applies in politics. When the accusations that led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton first surfaced, he flatly denied them all. Then, as the months passed, the truth came out -- but slowly, bit by bit. One of Clinton's own White House aides later called it "telling the truth slowly."

By the time the whole truth came out, it was called "old news," and the clever phrase now was that we should "move on."

It was a successful "cooling out" of the public, keeping them in uncertainty so long that, by the time the whole truth came out, there was no longer the same outrage as if the truth had suddenly come out all at once. Without the support of an outraged public, the impeachment of President Clinton fizzled out in the Senate.

We are currently seeing another "cooling out" process, growing out of the terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi on September 11th this year.

The belated release of State Department e-mails shows that the Obama administration knew, while the attack on the American consulate was still underway, that it was a coordinated, armed terrorist attack. They were getting reports from those inside the consulate who were under attack, as well as surveillance pictures from a camera on an American drone overhead.

About an hour before the attack, the scene outside was calm enough for the American ambassador to accompany a Turkish official to the gates of the consulate to say goodbye. This could hardly have happened if there were protesting mobs there.

Why then did both President Obama and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice keep repeating the story that this was a spontaneous protest riot against an anti-Islamic video in America?

The White House knew the facts -- but they knew that the voting public did not. And it mattered hugely whether the facts became known to the public before or after the election. What the White House needed was a process of "cooling out" the voters, keeping them distracted or in uncertainty as long as possible.

Not only did the Obama administration keep repeating the false story about an anti-Islamic video being the cause of a riot that turned violent, the man who produced that video was tracked down and arrested, creating a media distraction.

All this kept the video story front and center, with the actions and inactions of the Obama administration kept in the background.
The White House had to know that it was only a matter of time before the truth would come out. But time was what mattered, with an election close at hand. The longer they could stretch out the period of distraction and uncertainty -- "cooling out" the voters -- the better. Once the confidence man in the White House was reelected, it would be politically irrelevant what facts came out.

As the Obama administration's video story began to slowly unravel, their earlier misstatements were blamed on "the fog of war" that initially obscures many events. But there was no such "fog of war" in this case. The Obama administration knew what was happening while it was happening.

They didn't know all the details -- and we may never know all the details -- but they knew enough to know that this was no protest demonstration that got out of hand.

From the time it took office, the Obama administration has sought to suppress the very concept of a "war on terror" or the terrorists' war on us. The painful farce of calling the Fort Hood murders "workplace violence," instead of a terrorist attack in our midst, shows how far the Obama administration would go to downplay the dangers of Islamic extremist terrorism.

The killing of Osama bin Laden fed the pretense that the terrorism threat had been beaten. But the terrorists' attack in Libya exposed that fraud -- and required another fraud to try to "cool out" the voters until after election day.

There are Two Americas out there.

One is represented by Tyrone Woods.

Mr. Woods, recall, was one of two Navy Seals (Glen Doherty was the other) who rushed to the aid of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith, and other Americans in the Benghazi consulate and were murdered by terrorists. Specifically, according to their own boastful claims, murdered by members of Ansar al-Sharia, an al Qaeda offshoot seeking the ultimate Islamic supremacist goal of imposing the totalitarianism that is Sharia everywhere around the globe. In this case, in eastern Libya.

The other America may be said to be represented by Lena Dunham. Ms. Dunham, recall, is the young actress from the HBO series Girls who is featured in this Obama commercial prattling on about

Your first time shouldn't be with just anybody. You want to do it with a great guy… somebody who really cares about and understands women.

She's talking about voting, (her voting "first time" was with Obama in 2008) but in the way of the progressive mind the idea is that she's discussing something else like….hmmmmm….oh, yes…sex. You got that, right? The cute bit is the idea of sex when she really means voting. I know, I know. What a knee-slapper.

Trying to relive the Baby Boom Generation, Ms. Dunham is clueless that she's decades late, laughably uncool and embarrassingly unhip. One amusing side effect of the Baby Boom generation is that having broken every rule in the book, not to mention inventing modern feminism, post the Baby Boomers younger generations have no rules left to break that weren't thoroughly trashed years ago. Sex? Drugs? Rock and roll? Protest? Outrage? Women's equality? Girls doing their own thing? Baby Boomers wrote the book. Dunham (and in fairness she's not the first) is simply the latest wannabe, a hilariously cheap knock-off.

Even more amusing are those who have rushed to Dunham's defense, as with this from Amanda Marcotte over at Slate in a surely unintentionally self-descriptive piece titled "Lena Dunham Ad Brings Out the Crazies."

Sexy young white women are the rightful property of Republican men, and Obama is stealing them from you and filling their heads with this ridiculous notion that they own themselves.

Ah, but of course. It's all about race. What else would you expect from the latest heiress to the party of slavery, segregation, lynching, the Klan, racial quotas and illegal immigration?

The Nation proclaimed Dunham's ad to be "sexy, controversial and hip" -- a telling if inadvertent clue to just how far the standard for "sexy, controversial and hip" has plummeted since the 1960s.

Yet Dunham's ad, coming as it does more or less at the same time as the understanding of just how and most importantly why Tyrone Woods died is a telling slice of what John Edwards used to call the "Two Americas." Edwards, however, was talking about the eternal class warfare that rich liberals love to provoke once they've got their own millions and set about busily trying to keep the unwashed middle class eternally middle.

The "Two Americas" represented by Woods and Dunham are cultural.

Tyrone Woods was murdered by the disciples of Ansar al-Sharia. And what does Ansar al-Sharia want? They want the likes of Lena Dunham wrapped in veils, kept education-less and book-less not to mention video-less. If Ansar al-Sharia and their various allies around the globe have their way, Lena Dunham would be treated exactly as was Malala Yousufzai, the 14-year old Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban for the crime of urging girls to read.

And it is the Tyrone Woods of the world who are out there every single day where their lives are literally on the line doing their damndest to protect a 26-year-old Lena Dunham's right to act like a "Girl" on HBO.

But where is Dunham politically? Oh right. She's with the guy who knew Tyrone Woods was trapped there in Benghazi determined to rescue his colleagues from some seriously deadly war-on-women types. She's with the guy who denied help to Tyrone Woods and his battle against Sharia-obsessed Islamic supremacists not once. Not twice. But three times. She's with the guy who thinks al Qaeda has been defeated because he killed Osama bin Laden -- yet is mystified that Tyrone Woods would come under attack in the first place.

Or why.

And Barack Obama is "somebody who really cares about and understands women"?

Really? Wow. Talk about clueless.

This is a guy who can't even bring himself to chastise his own grandmother for celebrating the joys of wife-beating. Because, don't you know, beating wives is OK with Granny Sarah and all those students whose Sharia educations she funds on the many dimes of Barack Obama's reputation with people exactly like Lena Dunham.

Over at PJ Media is a review of a book by Dr. Andrew Bostom, Sharia States: Totalitarian to the Core. The review is excellent -- and the book has a blurb, I should mention, by our friend Andrew McCarthy, the prosecutor of the Blind Sheikh. (Andy McCarthy was also kind enough to write this last week about our Obama Knew column.)

Among other points, the review notes that Sharia "prohibits political freedoms as well as freedoms of conscience, faith, and expression (both oral and written)."

Which is to say, Lena Dunham (not to mention HBO, Amanda Marcotte, or the Nation) would be flatly prohibited from writing a word. Much less allowed to take to a television camera to tape Girls or any other show, her Obama commercial included.

But there is a woman who was the subject of a video in the world Tyrone Woods was fighting.

This woman's video -- is quite unlike Lena Dunham's video where the subject wears a sleeveless T-shirt and sports a tattoo. No, this woman is shrouded in cloth from head to toe. She doesn't look at the camera. She looks the other way, waiting. Waiting for what? For her execution for committing adultery. Quickly, the moment arrives. She is shot -- nine times. Note: You Tube requires a password to view because of the graphic nature of the video.

Unlike Malala, this woman does not survive.

This is what Tyrone Woods gave his life fighting for on the streets of Benghazi. This is an American hero who did the ultimate in a real war on women that Lena Dunham (or Sandra Fluke or the head of Planned Parenthood) cannot begin to grasp. Or simply refuse to acknowledge.

A war on women that, yes indeed, Barack Obama by design, incompetence, or an ideological soft spot has used the resources of the U.S. government to encourage.

A war on women that Lena Dunham clearly doesn't understand -- or she would be out there with her HBO friends making a television show about men who kill women in the name of Islam. If she -- and HBO -- had the courage.

The irony here?

The America that leftist women have such contempt for -- the America that believes in a moral obligation to respect women, to make sure they have an education, read books, and have the opportunity to make videos and television shows to their hearts content -- that America is sending its sons and daughters to protect those rights. To die for those rights.

It is exactly that America that sent Tyrone Woods to fight Ansar al-Sharia in Benghazi.

It is exactly that America that sent Tyrone Woods to fight Ansar al-Sharia in Benghazi so that Lena Dunham can sit at peace in Brooklyn with her tattoo and her sleeveless T-shirt and her wink-wink on-camera prattlings about first-times. So that Amanda Marcotte can play with her race cards at Slate.

It is exactly that America that sent Tyrone Woods to fight Ansar al-Sharia so Ms. Dunham can cut a commercial for a candidate who turned his back when an American son needed help fighting against deeply serious men who deeply hate women in ways that Lena Dunham clearly cannot begin to fathom.

Will HBO be doing a television show about Tyrone Woods? Will Lena Dunham be writing a TV show about Malala or the anonymous woman who was shot 9 times for allegedly committing adultery?

In the world of Two Americas, not likely. Unfortunately, it's not the first time.

Two Americas are going to vote on election day. Two names will be on the ballot: Romney and Obama.

But what's really on the ballot election day is a choice between the America of Tyrone Woods and the America of Lena Dunham.

As I noted in the introduction to my book, The Obama Timeline, a jury at a murder trial will often find the accumulated circumstantial evidence so overwhelming that a guilty verdict is obvious—even though there may be no witness to the crime. “The jurors in the Scott Peterson trial believed the collection of evidence more than they believed Scott Peterson. Among other things, the jury thought that being arrested with $15,000 in cash, recently-dyed hair, a newly-grown goatee, four cell phones, camping equipment, a map to a new girlfriend’s house, a gun, and his brother’s drivers license certainly did not paint a picture of a grieving husband who had nothing to do with his pregnant wife’s disappearance and murder.”

In the four years I have been gathering information about—and evidence against—Barack Hussein Obama, I have encountered hundreds of coincidences that strike me as amazing. None of those coincidences, by themselves, may mean much. But taken as a whole it is almost impossible to believe they were all the result of chance. Consider the Obama-related coincidences:

Obama just happened to know 60s far-left radical revolutionary William Ayers, whose father just happened to be Thomas Ayers, who just happened to be a close friend of Obama’s communist mentor Frank Marshall Davis, who just happened to work at the communist-sympathizing Chicago Defender with Vernon Jarrett, who just happened to later become the father-in-law of Iranian-born leftist Valerie Jarrett, who Obama just happened to choose as his closest White House advisor, and who just happened to have been CEO of Habitat Company, which just happened to manage public housing in Chicago, which just happened to get millions of dollars from the Illinois state legislature, and which just happened not to properly maintain the housing—which eventually just happened to require demolition.

Valerie Jarrett also just happened to work for the city of Chicago, and just happened to hire Michelle LaVaughan Robinson (later Obama), who just happened to have worked at the Sidley Austin law firm, where former fugitive from the FBI Bernardine Dohrn also just happened to work, and where Barack Obama just happened to get a summer job. Jarrett also just happened to follow Obama as a member of the board of the Joyce Foundation, where she served with Michael Brewer, who just happens to be married to Janet Brown, who just happens to be executive director of the Commission on Presidential Debates, which just happened to select four leftist members of the mainstream media to moderate the 2012 presidential and vice-presidential debates.

Bernardine Dohrn just happened to be married to William Ayers, with whom she just happened to have hid from the FBI at a San Francisco marina, along with Donald Warden, who just happened to change his name to Khalid al-Mansour, and Warden/al-Mansour just happened to be a mentor of Black Panther Party founders Huey Newton and Bobby Seale and a close associate of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, and al-Mansour just happened to be financial adviser to a Saudi Prince, who just happened to donate cash to Harvard, for which Obama just happened to get a critical letter of recommendation from Percy Sutton, who just happened to have been the attorney for Malcolm X, who just happened to know Kenyan politician Tom Mboya, who just happened to be a close friend of Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., who just happened to meet Malcolm X when he traveled to Kenya.

Obama, Sr. just happened to have his education at the University of Hawaii paid for by the Laubach Literacy Institute, which just happened to have been supported by Elizabeth Mooney Kirk, who just happened to be a friend of Malcolm X, who just happened to have been associated with the nation of Islam, which was later headed by Louis Farrakhan, who just happens to live very close to Obama’s Chicago mansion, which also just happens to be located very close to the residence of William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who just happen to have been occasional baby-sitters for Malia and Natasha Obama, whose parents just happen not to mind exposing their daughters to bomb-making communists.

After attending Occidental College and Columbia University, where he just happened to have foreign Muslim roommates, Obama moved to Chicago to work for the Industrial Areas Foundation, an organization that just happened to have been founded by Marxist and radical agitator Saul “the Red” Alinsky, author of Rules for Radicals, who just happened to be the topic of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s thesis at Wellesley College, and Obama’s $25,000 salary at IAF just happened to be funded by a grant from the Woods Fund, which was founded by the Woods family, whose Sahara Coal company just happened to provide coal to Commonwealth Edison, whose CEO just happened to be Thomas Ayers, whose son William Ayers just happened to serve on the board of the Woods Fund, along with Obama.

Obama also worked on voter registration drives in Chicago in the 1980s and just happened to work with leftist political groups like the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and Socialist International (SI), through which Obama met Carl Davidson, who just happened to travel to Cuba during the Vietnam War to sabotage the U.S. war effort, and who just happened to be a former member of the SDS and a member of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, which just happened to sponsor a 2002 anti-war rally at which Obama spoke, and which just happened to have been organized by Marilyn Katz, a former SDS activist and later public relations consultant who just happened to be a long-time friend of Obama’s political hatchet man, David Axelrod.

Obama joined Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), whose pastor was Reverend Jeremiah Wright, a fiery orator who just happened to preach Marxism and Black Liberation Theology and who delivered anti-white, anti-Jew, and anti-American sermons, which Obama just happened never to hear because he just happened to miss church only on the days when Wright was at his “most enthusiastic,” and Obama just happened never to notice that Oprah Winfrey left the church because it was too radical, and just happened never to notice that the church gave the vile anti-Semitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan a lifetime achievement award.

Although no one had ever heard of him at the time, Obama just happened to receive an impossible-to-believe $125,000 advance to write a book about race relations, which he just happened to fail to write while using the cash to vacation in Bali with his wife Michelle, and despite his record of non-writing he just happened to receive a second advance, for $40,000, from another publisher, and he eventually completed a manuscript called Dreams From My Father, which just happened to strongly reflect the writing style of William Ayers, who just happened to trample on an American flag for the cover photograph of the popular Chicago magazine, which Obama just happened never to see even though it appeared on newsstands throughout the city.

Obama was hired by the law firm Miner, Banhill and Galland, which just happened to specialize in negotiating state government contracts to develop low-income housing, and which just happened to deal with now-imprisoned Tony Rezko and his firm Rezar, and with slum lord Valerie Jarrett, and the law firm’s Judson Miner just happened to have been a classmate of Bernardine Dohrn, wife of William Ayers.

In 1994 Obama represented ACORN and another plaintiff in a lawsuit against Citibank for denying mortgages to blacks (Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank Federal Savings Bank), and the lawsuit just happened to result in banks being blackmailed into approving subprime loans for poor credit risks, a trend which just happened to spread nationwide, and which just happened to lead to the collapse of the housing bubble, which just happened to help Obama defeat John McCain in the 2008 presidential election.

In 1996 Obama ran for the Illinois State Senate and joined the “New Party,” which just happened to promote Marxism, and Obama was supported by Dr. Quentin Yong, a socialist who just happened to support a government takeover of the health care system.

In late 1999 Obama purportedly engaged in homosexual activities and cocaine-snorting in the back of a limousine with a man named Larry Sinclair, who claims he was contacted in late 2007 by Donald Young, who just happened to be the gay choir director of Obama’s Chicago church and who shared information with Sinclair about Obama, and Young just happened to be murdered on December 23, 2007, just weeks after Larry Bland, another gay member of the church, just happened to be murdered, and both murders just happened to have never been solved. In 2008 Sinclair held a press conference to discuss his claims, and just happened to be arrested immediately after the event, based on a warrant issued by Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, who just happens to be the son of Joe Biden.

In 2003 Obama and his wife attended a dinner in honor of Rashid Khalidi, who just happened to be a former PLO operative, harsh critic of Israel, and advocate of Palestinian rights, and who Obama claims he does not know, even though the Obamas just happened to have dined more than once at the home of Khalidi and his wife, Mona, and just happened to have used them as occasional baby-sitters. Obama reportedly praised Khalidi at the decidedly anti-Semitic event, which William Ayers just happened to also attend, and the event Obama pretends he never attended was sponsored by the Arab American Action Network, to which Obama just happened to have funneled cash while serving on the board of the Woods Fund with William Ayers, and one speaker at the dinner remarked that if Palestinians cannot secure a return of their land, Israel “will never see a day of peace,” and entertainment at the dinner included a Muslim children’s dance whose performances just happened to include simulated beheadings with fake swords, and stomping on American, Israeli, and British flags, and Obama allegedly told the audience that “Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine” and there has been “genocide against the Palestinian people by (the) Israelis,” and theLos Angeles Times has a videotape of the event but just happens to refuse to make it public.

In the 2004 Illinois Democrat primary race for the U.S. Senate, front-runner Blair Hull just happened to be forced out of the race after David Axelrod just happened to manage to get Hull’s sealed divorce records unsealed, which just happened to enable Obama to win the primary, so he could face popular Republican Jack Ryan, whose sealed child custody records from his divorce just happened to become unsealed, forcing Ryan to withdraw from the race, which just happened to enable the unqualified Obama to waltz into the U.S. Senate, where, after a mere 143 days of work, he just happened to decide he was qualified to run for President of the United States.

Obama just happened to save $300,000 on the purchase of a $1.65 million Chicago mansion for which he deposited only $1,000 in earnest money, while the seller’s adjacent empty lot which was appraised at no more than $500,000 just happened to be sold at the inflated price of $625,000 to Rita Rezko, who just happened to earn only $37,000 per year working for Cook County government, and who just happened to be married to Tony Rezko, who just happened to be Obama’s main money man for his political campaigns, and who only days before the Obama mansion purchase just happened to obtain a $3.5 million loan from wealthy Iraqi Nadhmi Auchi, who just happened to have been kicked out of Iraq, and who just happened to have been convicted of corruption charges in France, and who just happened to ask Rezko to ask then-U.S. Senator Obama to help him obtain a visa to travel to the United States.

Rita Rezko just happened to borrow the money for the $625,000 empty lot from the Mutual Bank of Harvey, which just happened to be run by Tony Rezko’s pal Amrish Mahajan, whose wife Anita just happened to have been charged with fraudulently receiving $2 million in Illinois taxpayer dollars for drug tests never performed by her company, K. K. Bio-Science, which just happened to have a no-bid contract with the state, and whose computers just happened to disappear right before investigators arrived to take them away for evidence.

Obama just happened to obtain a $1.32 million mortgage for his mansion even though the payments of $8,000 per month (plus at least $1,500 per month in property taxes) exceeded 50 percent of his $162,100 U.S Senate salary income, and even though Michelle Obama was claiming that she and her husband were still paying off substantial student loans and were struggling to pay for piano lessons for their daughters, one of whom just happens to look remarkably like one of the daughters of Malcolm X.

Obama just happened to obtain his mansion mortgage from Northern Trust Bank, whose Board of Directors just happened to include Susan Crown, who just happened to be part of the wealthy Crown family, which just happened to donate to Obama’s campaigns, and which just happened to have ownership in defense contractor General Dynamics Corporation, and the Crown family just happened to sit on the board of energy company Exelon, formerly known as Commonwealth Edison, which just happened to have had Thomas Ayers as its CEO, and the Crown family also owned the Maytag appliance company, which just happened to move its operations to Mexico, after its employees just happened to donate to Obama’s campaign, after he just happened to pledge that he would keep their jobs in Galesburg, Illinois.

In June 2005, just months after Obama became a U.S. Senator, Michelle Obama just happened to be named a “non-executive director” of the board of TreeHouse Foods, a supplier of Wal-Mart, for a salary of $51,200 in 2005 and $101,083 in 2006, and she just happened to be given 7,500 TreeHouse stock options, worth approximately $72,375, even though she just happened to know nothing about the private sector or running a business.

In 2006 Obama pushed for a $1 million earmark for the University of Chicago, and his wife Michelle just happened to be promoted to Vice-President of Community and External Affairs for the hospitals with a salary increase from $121,900 to $316,962, and she just happened to receive public relations help from Obama’s political strategist David Axelrod, whose mother just happened to write for a communist newspaper.

In 2006 Sarah P. Herlihy, an associate of the Chicago law firm of Kirkland and Ellis, whose employees later contributed $87,722 to Obama’s presidential campaign, and whose partner Bruce I. Ettleson just happened to be a member of Obama’s campaign finance committee, just happened to write a paper calling for the elimination of the “natural born citizen” requirement in the U.S. Constitution.

Obama just happened to visit Kenya in 2006 to support his cousin, Raila Odinga, a Muslim socialist candidate for president, who just happened to have ties to both al-Qaeda and Libya’s Muammar Qaddafi, and who just happened to have been educated in communist East Germany, and who just happened to name his son Fidel, and who just happened to plan on establishing Shari’ah Muslim law in Kenya, and whose activities prompted the Kenyan government to lodge an official protest of Obama’s passport abuse and misconduct, and Obama’s actions just happened to have been denounced by the U.S. State Department as being in direct opposition to U. S. National Security, and after Odinga, for whom Obama just happened to have raised $950,000, lost the election, his Muslim followers just happened to burn Christian women and children alive in a church where they had sought refuge.

In 2006 Obama endorsed Alexi Giannoulias in his race for Illinois State Treasurer and stated that he is “…one of the most outstanding young men I could ever hope to meet”—even though Giannoulias just happened to be only 29 years old and even though his family’s Broadway Bank just happened to finance Chicago crime figures like Michael “Jaws” Giorango, a Chicago thug with convictions for bookmaking and promoting prostitution, and even though virtually all of Chicago’s Democrat politicians were keeping their distance from Giannoulias, whose reputation was so questionable he even failed to get the endorsement of the Chicago Democrat Party—which just happens to almost never be concerned about questionable reputations.

Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, once worked for the Ford Foundation’s Asia program, which just happened to be run by Peter Geithner, who just happened to be the father of Timothy Geithner, who just happened to neglect to pay Social Security taxes on much of his income, which just happened to somehow qualify him to be Obama’s Treasury Secretary.

During the 2008 campaign Obama’s passport records just happened to have been illegally searched by an employee of a firm headed by John O. Brennan, and Lt. Quarles Harris, Jr., who was cooperating with federal investigators in connection with the incident, just happened to be found with a bullet in his head, and the murder just happened never to be solved, and Obama later just happened to make Brennan his terrorism and intelligence advisor.

On election night in 2008 in Chicago’s Grant Park, Obama just happened to wear a black suit and a red tie, and his older daughter just happened to wear a red dress, and his younger daughter just happened to wear a stark black dress, and his wife Michelle just happened to wear an arguably unattractive black dress that appeared to have a giant red X design, which just happened to prompt some to wonder if their clothing just happened to denote black power, communism, and Malcolm X, and at the very least prompted others to wonder why anyone would have his daughter wear a jet-black dress for a celebratory occasion—or where one could even just happen to find a store that sells black dresses for little girls.

From election night forward there are hundreds of other “just happeneds,” not the least of which is the long-form birth certificate released by Obama in April 2011 which just happened to consist of multiple image layers, including various objects which can be separated and rotated with computer software—which just happens to be impossible if a birth certificate is merely scanned and not computer-constructed by a forger.

Oh, and Obama just happened to have used more than one Social Security number over the years, and one of them is associated with 713 Hart Senate Office Building and starts with the digits 282, which signifies issuance in Ohio, a state in which Obama just happened to have never lived or worked, and another Social Security number used by Obama starts with 042, which signifies Connecticut, another state in which Obama just happened to have never lived or worked, and it just happened that no one in the mainstream media has ever bothered to ask Obama why he has used multiple Social Security numbers or why the 042 number comes up as invalid in the E-Verify system used by employers to confirm whether immigrant job applicants have valid numbers.

Crowley cuts off Romney’s Fast and Furious remarks at Obama’s behest

In the Oct. 16 presidential debate between President Barack Obama and GOP challenger W. Mitt Romney, when the president dropped the pretense of being neutral on restricting gun rights with a key assist from moderator Candy Crowley, hostess of the CNN program “State of the Nation.”

After his policies were rebuked in the 1994 midterms, President William J. Clinton, blamed more than anything else his support for a national ban on so-called assault weapons. It must have been a calculated move for Obama to suggest he would bring back the ban that had expired.

The questioner asked the president what he had done to fulfill his 2008 promise to keep AK-47’s and so-called assault weapons out of the hands of criminals.

Americans support the Second Amendment, he said. Then, those concerned about gun rights waited for the “but.”

They did not have to wait long.

“But there have been too many instances during the course of my presidency, where I’ve had to comfort families who have lost somebody,” he said.

“We have to enforce the laws we’ve already got, make sure that we’re keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, those who are mentally ill,” he said.

“We’ve done a much better job in terms of background checks, but we’ve got more to do when it comes to enforcement,” he said. “What I’m trying to do is to get a broader conversation about how do we reduce the violence generally. Part of it is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced.”

Obama said it made sense to him that weapons designed for soldiers should not be in the hands of civilians.

Perhaps sensing the a coming retort, the president acknowledged his own city of Chicago, a city with some of the strictest gun laws in the country, is rife with gun violence. “Frankly, in my home town of Chicago, there’s an awful lot of violence and they’re not using AK-47s. They’re using cheap hand guns.”

Message: We are coming after the hand guns, too.

The president and his campaign have been quick to point out that in the last four years, the administration has not proposed new restrictions on gun rights. In the Oct. 16 debate, Obama crossed that line with not only a call for responsible gun ownership, but also with his support for screening Americans for their mental capacity to exercise their guns rights.

Like trying to get off the No-Fly List, Americans who find themselves on the No-Gun List, like veterans, who seek counseling, have no process to appeal or otherwise adjudicate their status–a status bestowed upon them with the stroke of a bureaucrat’s pen and often without notice.

For his part, Romney got caught up in the law he signed in Massachusetts that banned so-called “assault weapons.” It is a position that Romney took with the cooperation of the National Rifle Association because it loosened other gun restrictions.

The former Bay State governor scored some serious points with he brought up the Fast and Furious scandal, unfortunately, the rogue moderator stepped in again to interrupt Romney and break up his rhetorical momentum.

“The – the greatest failure we’ve had with regards to – to gun violence in some respects is what – what is known as Fast and Furious. Which was a program under this administration, and how it worked exactly I think we don’t know precisely, where thousands of automatic, and AK-47 type weapons were – were given to people that ultimately gave them to – to drug lords,” Romney said.

“They used those weapons against – against their own citizens and killed Americans with them. And this was a – this was a program of the government,” he said. “I’d like to understand who it was that did this, what the idea was behind it, why it led to the violence, thousands of guns going to Mexican drug lords.”

The president used one of his lifelines: “Candy?”

The immoderate moderator interceded: ”Governor, Governor, if I could, the question was about these assault weapons that once were once banned and are no longer banned.” There could be no discussion of the Justice Department program that sent thousands of military-style long guns to Mexican crime organizations. Because? Because, no reason, because–and that was that.

Fractured Fairy Tales: Greens Hate Natural Gas and Fracking, but Costly, Parasitic Wind Energy Can’t Live Without it

Horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing have boosted shale gas production from zero a few years ago to 10% of all US energy supplies in 2012, observes energy analyst Daniel Yergin. Fracking has also increased US oil production 25% since 2008 – almost all on state and private lands, and in the face of more federal land and resource withdrawals, permitting delays and declining public land production.

In the process, the fracking revolution created 1.7 million jobs in oil fields, equipment manufacturing, legal and information technology services, and other sectors. It will generate over $60 billion this year in state and federal tax and royalty revenues, reduce America’s oil import bill by $75 billion, and save us $100 billion in imported liquefied natural gas, concludes a new IMF Global Insight analysis.

A resurgent American petroleum industry could add “as many as 3.6 million jobs by 2020, and increase the US gross domestic product by as much as 3 percent,” says Citigroup’s “Energy 2020” report. Fracking is bringing new jobs and revenues to states underlain by shale deposits, and could give our nation over a century of hydrocarbon energy that will keep prices low for fuel and petrochemical feed stocks.

That means more manufacturing and other jobs for millions of graduates and unemployed workers, and new prosperity for the “Rust Belt” and other areas. “Plunging natural gas prices have turned the US into one of the most profitable places in the world to make chemicals and fertilizer,” says the Wall Street Journal . It’s also “slashed costs for makers of energy-intensive products such as aluminum, steel and glass.”

It could make North America energy independent and even a net exporter of natural gas. In fact, this amazing new technology could turn the United States into the world’s #1 oil producer within just a few more years.

For people still concerned about “catastrophic manmade global warming” (despite 16 years of stable global temperatures), unconventional gas also provides a way to cut carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40% using clean-burning rule that costs a third less than oil on a per BTU basis, notes Danish economist Bjorn Lomborg. The USA’s CO2 emissions are now at their lowest levels in 20 years, because of natural gas, a sluggish economy, and the retirement of 100-200 coal-fired power plants due to an EPA regulatory onslaught that is based heavily on agenda-driven, slipshod and even fraudulent and illegal science.

Logic and common sense would engender unprecedented public, political and even environmentalist support for hydraulic fracturing and expanded oil and gas production. Indeed, that is Governor Romney’s perspective and policy. Unfortunately, Team Obama remains largely opposed to domestic drilling, fixated on “renewable” energy, despite having already wasted some $97 billion on wind, solar and algae projects – and poised to unleash a boxcar of new EPA and BLM rules designed to usurp state control and restrict or hyper-regulate fracking on federal, state and private lands alike, win or lose on November 6.

Team Obama justifies its stance by citing public anxiety over fracking. It fails to mention that this anxiety has been nurtured and orchestrated by a host of environmental pressure groups whose existence, monetary sustenance and political power depend on a steady stream of new eco-hobgoblins. Their fractured fairy tales about this game-changing energy technology would be as funny as the Rocky and Bullwinkle tales, if the economic, employment, national security and environmental consequences weren’t so serious.

Hydraulic fracturing devastates their mantra that we are running out of oil and gas. It annihilates their incessant assertions that hydrocarbons are the energy of the past, and renewables are the future. In reality, wind and solar cannot live with cheap natural gas (because they cannot possibly compete with it) and cannot live without it (because they only work 20% of the time and need gas as constant backup power).

Burning tap water. Yes, you can ignite methane at your kitchen faucet, if your well was drilled through gas-bearing rock formations and was not properly cemented and sealed to keep gas out. (Eternal Flame Falls in New York’s Chestnut Ridge Park is one example of natural methane leakage.) But fracturing zones are thousands of feet below groundwater supplies; production wells use cement and steel casing that extends hundreds of feet below the surface; and sensitive instruments monitor downhole activity, to ensure that valuable gas does not escape into near-surface formations or the atmosphere.

Consequently, the anti-fracking factions have concocted a hodgepodge of eco-scares, each one more absurd and indefensible than the last.

Groundwater contamination. Fracking fluids are 99.5% water and sand. The other 0.5% is chemicals that fight bacterial growth, keep sand particles suspended in the liquid and improve production. The vast majority today are found in household items that Americans use safely every day – including cheese, beer, canned fish, dairy desserts, shampoo and cosmetic products. New fluids like those developed by FamilyJoule and Halliburton represent the new kinds of entirely nontoxic and biodegradable chemicals that almost all drillers are now using.

Steadily improving technologies, techniques and regulations minimize risks even further. For instance, heavy plastic liners are now commonplace under drilling rigs, storage tanks and containment pits. Along with modern drilling and well casing methods, they help make the likelihood of chemical or salt contamination of groundwater a minuscule fraction of what is posed by winter salting of icy roads.

Wastewater and water depletion. In addition to changing the composition of fracking fluids (and making that information readily available online), to address concerns about water use and wastewater disposal, drilling companies increasingly recycle the water they use. Devon and other companies have recycled hundreds of millions of gallons, and some 90% of water produced in the Marcellus shale region of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia is now reused. Moreover, the amount of water used in fracking is far less than what is required to grow corn and process it into ethanol.

Earthquakes. Fracturing rocks does cause cracking that can be measured with ultra-sensitive equipment. But these micro-seismic events measure around 0.8 on the Richter Scale, about what is caused by a car passing by. Even loaded dump trucks register only a 3 (the minimum that can be felt by humans), and property damage does not begin until level 5. Deep injection of water for geothermal energy development or enhanced oil recovery operations (or to dispose of petroleum, municipal or industrial wastewater) has caused detectable seismic activity; however, of more than 800,000 injection wells nationwide, only about 40 were actually felt at the surface. Rules and practices increasingly address these injection well issues.

Fracking is unregulated. State and local regulation and cooperation with industry, constant refinements and improvements in rules and practices, and accommodation to public concerns about water, drilling and fracking fluids, road congestion, community impacts and other issues have been ongoing for decades. That is part of the reason that 2.5 million instances of fracking worldwide (over 1 million in the USA) since 1949 have not caused any serious harm. That’s a safety record any industry would envy.

Unfortunately, environmentalist fractured fairy tales cost us energy, jobs, revenue and prosperity – for no ecological benefit. The ultimate irony is Europe, where Big Green opposition to fracking and nuclear power is ushering in a coal-burning renaissance. Germany and other central EU countries will be building 10,600 megawatts of new coal-fired electrical power plants during the next four years!

Meanwhile, green power mandates have already pushed Germany’s electricity prices to the second highest in Europe (32 cents per kWh, compared to an average of 10 cents in the USA) – and the average German household faces another 50% rate hike over the next year. Countless jobs are also at risk.

America has the world’s largest reserves of oil, gas and coal. We need access to these deposits, under rational regulations that reflect reality, instead of eco fairy tales. We need people in the White House, Congress and government bureaucracies who can distinguish between fact and fiction, understand how to produce real energy, jobs and revenues, and don’t have an agenda to “fundamentally transform” our nation.
